Caitlyn Marsh

Caitlyn Marsh received a BFA in ceramics at Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2006. After graduating she had a career of nearly twenty years managing non-profit ceramics studios for communities in Concord, MA and Dedham, MA. She built a professional workspace in her Worcester home for ceramics and photography and exclusively works in this studio space.

Caitlyn appreciates surface design the most when studying the craft of pottery. And she integrates just that into her own work. How and where to incorporate surface area for glaze resist patterns is carefully measured and marked, and the long decorative process begins. She hopes to illustrate that using handmade, thoughtfully crafted tableware creates an exceptional user experience compared to commercially produced wares commonly seen in the consumer market. The very nature of being handmade implies a special uniqueness that can't quite be replicated.
